History
Founded in Chicago in 1870, Tablet & Ticket produced everything from advertising stickers and price cards to paper tablets. During the city’s reconstruction after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the emergence of the first high-rise buildings created a demand for architectural displays and lobby directories. Tablet & Ticket secured the initial patents for strip-type building directories, with early installations in notable buildings such as the Tribune Tower, The Wrigley Building, Monadnock Building, Reliance Building, and the Empire State Building, among many others. By 1928, more than 20,000 directories were in use.
Now in its fifth generation, Tablet & Ticket has grown from building directories into a leading manufacturer of custom, architectural display cases and cabinets. Today, operating in partnership with GMi Companies in Lebanon, Ohio, Tablet & Ticket continues to craft quality, built to order, products proudly made in the USA.
